Whispering Pandaren Spirit

Third on my list of things to do is visit the Whispering Pandaren Spirit.  His multi-striking team has entirely Flying-type damage, which Dragonkin are resistant against.  Check out my video strategy guide also!

Pets and Abilities to use:

Spirit Crab (level 25) with Snap, Whirlpool, and Shell Shield
Chrominius (level 25) with Bite, Ancient Blessing, and Ravage

Strategy Overview:

Lead with Chrominius to defeat Dusty first, then Whispertail.  Let your carry pet take a swipe at Pandaren Air Spirit, then kill it with your Spirit Crab.

Reliability: 4/5 (Fairly Reliable)

Detailed Strategy:

You’ll want to face Dusty first.  This guy is a Critter-type pet that uses Moth-type attacks in a set 4-round pattern:

  1. Moth Dust
  2. Cocoon Strike
  3. Mothballs
  4. (Do nothing, everything is on CD)

Start with a Bite, then use Ancient Blessing whenever its CD is available.  Once Dusty’s health is low enough, finish him off with a Ravage, which will also heal your Chrominius.  Defeat Whispertail with the same strategy; with any luck you will be able to get a few hits on the elemental too.  Once Whispertail dies, switch in your carried pet to take a swing at the elemental, then swap in your Spirit Crab to finish him off with Whirlpools and Snaps. Using Shell Shield makes the fight safer; you are more likely to still win if you miss a Whirlpool if you have Shell Shield up.

Alternate Strategy:

Anubisath Idol with Crush, Stoneskin, and Sandstorm.  With this one, you’ll want to face Whispertail first.  Open with Sandstorm, then Stoneskin, then Crush.  Refresh Stoneskin when it has 1 round left, and refresh Sandstorm perioidically.  You should be able to defeat Whispertail and Dusty with the Idol.  Your best bet for a low-level carry pet is to bring them in and let them take Dusty’s Cocoon Strike.  If you’re really lucky, you might be able to kill the elemental with your Idol too.  The nice thing about that is the elemental does not receive the damage mitigation from Sandstorm.  Worst case scenario, finish the elemental with a Spirit Crab just as above.
